It sure seems like the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission, NERC, will be giving us a higher electricity tariff as a New Year present.
In a statement by the NERC this week, a new Multi Year Tariff Order ,MYTO, 2 regime has been approved for the electricity sector and will take off on the 1st of January, 2015.
According to the chairman of the NERC, Sam Amadi the new take off will bring about improved service delivery as distribution companies are now expected to implement their investment plans for metering and strengthen their networks in line with their bid documents.
